By MyKhel Staff

IND A vs AUS A: Australia A secured a commanding six-wicket win over India A on Day 3 of the second unofficial Test at Melbourne Cricket Ground, clinching the two-match series 2-0.

Set a modest target of 168, Australia A reached 169/4 in just under 48 overs, showcasing patience and resilience after early loss of wickets in the chase.

India A had moments of dominance, especially through Prasidh Krishna's fiery spells. He struck early, dismissing openers Marcus Harris and Cameron Bancroft with consecutive deliveries, leaving Australia A at 1/2.

Krishna, finishing with figures of 2/37 in the second innings, kept the visitors' hopes alive. However, Australia's middle-order, led by Sam Konstas and Beau Webster, stood firm. Konstas anchored the chase with an unbeaten 73, showing maturity and composure. Webster provided vital support with 46 not out, and together, the pair guided Australia A past the finish line with six wickets in hand.

India A's struggle began with a modest first-innings total of 161, despite Dhruv Jurel's fighting 80. Australia A's bowlers, particularly Michael Neser (4/27), dismantled the Indian batting lineup. Australia A then scored 223 in their first innings, with Marcus Harris top-scoring at 74, while Krishna's four-wicket haul kept India A within striking distance.

In the second innings, India A managed 229, led by Jurel's gritty 68 and a resilient lower-order effort from Tanush Kotian, who added 44. Corey Rocchiccioli was the pick of the Australian bowlers in this innings, claiming 4/74 with impressive spin variations, and Beau Webster chipped in with three key wickets, building pressure throughout.

Though India A battled hard, Australia's depth and consistency across all departments made the difference. This series sweep has given Australia A a strong start to their domestic season, while India A will need to regroup and address their middle-order inconsistencies.
