India A and Pakistan A met for the first time since 2006 in the ACC Asia Men’s Emerging Cup 2023. The India Blues and Pakistan Shaheens had their first clash in Match 12 of the group stages, where Team India chased down a total of 206 with 80 deliveries and eight wickets in hand.
However, in the all-important final match at Colombo on July 23, 2023, the Pakistan Shaheens roared back with a first-innings total of 352/8, courtesy of a century from Tayyab Tahir. The Pakistani bowling attack was on prime form as well, restricting India A to just 224 runs, with Sufiyan Muqeem taking a three-wicket haul.
