IND A vs SA A: Prasidh Krishna, Shardul Thakur, Pradosh Paul shine as India A and South Africa A settle for draw

IND A vs SA A: The four-day unofficial Test between India A and South Africa A at the Senwes Park in Potchefstroom ended in a draw on Thursday, December 14. India stars Prasidh Krishna, Shardul Thakur, Pradosh Kaul and Sarfaraz Khan starred in the match for India.

South Africa posted 319 runs after being asked to bat first by India captain Srikar Bharat. Rubin Hermann and Jean du Plessis scored 95 and 106 runs respectively for their team, but the five wicket-haul from Prasidh Krishna, who is also part of the upcoming two-match Test series between India and South Africa senior team, rocked the South African batting line-up.

Vidwath Kaverappa and Shardul Thakur picked one wicket each, while left-arm spinner Saurabh Kumar registered figures of 3/83 in 26 overs. A total of eight bowlers including Sarfaraz Khan and Sai Sudharsan were used by Bharat.

In reply, India piled up 417 runs on the board in 86.5 overs. India A's number three Pradosh Paul scored 163 off 209 balls. The inning from 22-year-old southpaw consisted of 23 fours and one six. Shardul Thakur also chipped in with 76 off 98 balls while batting at number seven. His partnership with Paul accounted for 152 runs.

South Africa A off-spinner Evan Jones emerged as the leading wicket-taker for his side with figures of 4/100 in 19 overs. Right-arm pacers Siya Plaatjie and Eathan Bosch chipped in with three and two wickets respectively.

South Africa were batting on 152/2 in 42 overs when the match between the two sides ended in a draw. Tushar Deshpande and Saurabh Kumar picked a wicket each in the second innings. The second unofficial Test match will be played from Wednesday, December 20.
