IND vs AUS 1st Test: Yashasvi Jaiswal on Sunday (November 24) joined Indian elite company with century in Perth against Australia in the ongoing first Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.
The 22-year-old opener, who registered a duck in the first innings, has redeemed himself with a hundred in his first Test on Australian soil and emulated greats like Sunil Gavaskar, Sachin Tendulkar and Virat Kohli with a Perth Test hundred.

Starting with an overnight score of 90* off 193 balls, Jaiswal did not waste much time to achieve the feat and did it with an audacious shot - an upper cut which saw the ball hit boundary cushion at fine leg - tp bring up his hundred in 205 balls.
Brave and audacious! First 100 in his first Test down under! 🙌#AUSvIND

By reaching the three figure mark, Jaiswal became the third Indian batter to score a century in his first Test in Australia. Before Jaiswal, legendary Gavaskar and Motganhalli Jaisimha had scored centuries in their maiden Test outing in Australia.
This also marked Jaiswal's third century in the calendar year and fourth overall as the 22-year-old went level with Tendulkar and Ravi Shastri in second for Indians scoring more hundreds in a single year before turning 23.
With 4 Test tons at the age of 22, Jaiswal went level with Gavaskar for most Test hundreds by Indian batters before turning 23. Only Tendulkar and Shastri have more to their name, and Jaiswal could make further strides to catch up in his current form.
With the Perth Test century, Jaiswal also became the first Indian opener after KL Rahul to reach three figure-mark in a Test match played in Australia. Rahul had scored 110 runs for India in the Sydney Test played from January 6 to 10 in 2015.
Jaiswal scored his fourth Test hundred in the company of Rahul as the pair added 201 runs for the first wicket to become the first Indian opening pair to add 200 runs in a Test match in Australia.
By reaching the 200-stand, Rahul and Jaiswal broke Sunil Gavaskar and Kris Srikkanth's record of 191 runs. Gavaskar and Srikkanth added 191 runs for the first wicket in the first innings of the Sydney Test played from January 2 to 6 in 1986.
