IND vs AUS: India will be aiming to take an unassailable 2-0 lead when they take on Australia in the second ODI of the three-match series at the Holkar Cricket Stadium on Sunday.

India defeated Australia and became the the number one ranked team across all the three formats despite the absence of regulars Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Hardik Pandya and Kuldeep Yadav on Friday.

The four star players would join the squad before the third and last ODI in Rajkot on Wednesday and KL Rahul would continue to lead in the second match. Australia are also waiting for Glenn Maxwell and Mitchell Starc to recover fully. The two players are expected to feature in the third ODI.

IND vs AUS 2nd ODI Prediction

India registered a comfortable 5-wicket win in the first ODI against Australia in Mohali on Friday. India restricted Australia to 276 in 50 overs thanks to Mohammed Shami's five-wicket haul and then chased down the target in 48.4 overs. Shubman Gill, Ruturaj Gaikwad, KL Rahul and Suryakumar Yadav scored a fifty each.

Australia lacked flair in both the departments of the games. Their batters kept on getting out after getting starts and that is the reason why they failed to post a big total on a good batting surface. The unavailability of experienced Glenn Maxwell and Mitchell Starc is expected to hurt Australia in the second ODI as well.

India, on the other hand, would be high on confidence. Their middle-order looks more robust with Suryakumar Yadav finally finding his feet in ODI cricket with a fifty. Shreyas Iyer got run out in the first match and would be raring to play a long innings. Also, India's bowling unit has been fired up since the Asia Cup. Ravichandran Ashwin is expected to play a big role for India in the match.
