IND vs AUS : Rohit Sharma Irks Netizens, Label India Captain As 'Walking Wicket' After Poor Show In 3rd Test

IND vs AUS: Rohit Sharma's dismal form in the longest format of the game continues as the Indian captain once again failed to live up to it's expectations and got out cheaply on Day 4 of the ongoing 3rd Test in Brisbane.

India were already 4 wickets down at the start of day's play on Tuesday and the captain was expected to deliver but instead he got out in the same way, how Virat Kohli did yesterday.

It was Australia captain Pat Cummins, who got the all important wicket. A pitched up delivery in the channel just outside off drew Rohit forward and as his feet was rooted to the crease, the 37-year-old only managed a thin edge, which eventually fell straight in the gloves of Carey.

The former Mumbai Indians' captain after this incident has drawn a lot of flak from fans on social media and they didn't mince their words on what they feel about their skipper presently.

Here's a look at the some of the reactions from X (Formerly Twitter).

''Do me a favour Rohit Sharma, announce retirement from test cricket go back to your basics and play some domestic cricket'', a fan wrote.

''Rohit Sharma should seriously consider retiring or limiting himself to playing Test cricket only in India. What a disastrous tour for him. '', another fan wrote.

If we look at Rohit's stats from September 2024, the Indian captain has scored only 152 runs in 13 innings with a shocking average of 11.69 with only one 50+ score. In the ongoing Border-Gavaskar trophy, he managed to score only 19 runs in the 3 innings he played so far.

After Rohit's departure, it was KL Rahul, who is leading the charge for the visitors as he is perfectly set in his late 60s. At the time of writing this article, India were at 105/5 before rain stopped play for the first time on the penultimate day.
