IND vs AUS 4th Test: Shubman Gill completes 2nd Test hundred, puts fans in frenzy

India vs Australia 4th Test: Shubman Gill scores his second Test century in the IND vs AUS 4th Test in Ahmedabad. This is how the fans reacted after he got to his century.

Shubman Gill

Shubman Gill batted brilliantly to score his second Test hundred on Saturday (March 11) against Australia at the Narendra Modi stadium.

Gill, who replaced KL Rahul after the first two Tests, played exquisitely on the 3rd day of the Test match in Ahmedabad and completed his 2nd Test ton, and his first in India. Gill, who incidentally plays for Gujarat Titans in the IPL, will remember his first Test hundred at his IPL home ground as well. He recently scored a T20I hundred at the same stadium against New Zealand.

Gill scores 5th century in 2023:

The stylish batter looked in touch from the start and batted quite brilliantly on Saturday. He played some elegant shots and looked comfortable throughout his inning. The batter hit 10 boundaries and hit a terrific six in his century and now has scored five centuries already in 2023 across all formats.

He scored 116 in an ODI against Sri Lanka, then scored 208 and 112 in two ODIs against New Zealand. The batter then went on to score an unbeaten 126 against the Kiwis in the T20I match at the Narendra Modi Stadium in February. Gill scored his first Test hundred last year against Bangladesh as he scored 110 runs in Chattogram.

The batter also middle the ball an astonishing 95 pc of all the deliveries that he faced in the inning. He is currently unbeaten at 103 and will be aiming to make this big as India look to get to Australia's first innings total of 480.

Shubman Gill puts fans in frenzy:

Along the way, there was some hilarious chants at the stadium on the 3rd day. The Indian fans started chanting 'Hamari bhabhi kaisi ho, Sara bhabhi jaisi ho', especially after Shubman went into his nineties. He hit consecutive fours to Cameron Green to get to his nineties, and then took on Nathan Lyon to hit over the bowler for a fantastic boundary. The scintillating batter then swept Todd Murphy to get a memorable hundred in front of a jam-packed Narendra Modi stadium.
