IND vs AUS: BCCI officials are not happy with India Support Staff, can take Action

By MyKhel Staff

The new calendar year 2025 hasn't bore positive news for the Indian team. After their on-field woes, an explosive report has questioned the off-field issues within the Indian dressing room.

After Gautam Gambhir's alleged fallout with some India players and reported ultimatum to some of them, a new issue has lurked ahead of the Sydney Test.

BCCI officials are not happy with India Support Staff can take Action

The Indian cricket team faces mounting challenges as reports emerge of BCCI's dissatisfaction with a development involving a key support staff member.

The situation adds to existing scrutiny on players and coaches as India trails 1-2 in the five-match Test series against Australia, with their World Test Championship hopes hanging precariously.

According to PTI, concerns have arisen about a support staff member being accompanied by a personal assistant at all venues.

"It is learnt that the person in question used to have FOP (Field Of Play) access during the IPL where he would stride into the playing arena after games in a franchise jersey. In Australia, his presence in the box dedicated to BCCI members hasn't really been appreciated," PTI reported.

It is to be seen if BCCI takes any step to curb the involvement of the staff or send the alleged person a verbal order for such antics.

The Indian Express reported on Wednesday about turmoil following India's 184-run defeat in the Boxing Day Test at Melbourne. Head coach Gautam Gambhir reportedly expressed frustration, saying "Bahut ho gaya" (I've had enough) during his dressing room address, with the environment described as "far from ideal".

The report details Gambhir's criticism of players pursuing their "natural game" rather than adapting to match situations. He reportedly indicated that he had allowed the team freedom since the start of his coaching, but now would implement his own vision.

IND vs AUS: India set to make Changes

As the Sydney Test starts on Friday (January 3), the Indian team may undergo a number of changes before that. Dhruv Jurel has been tipped to come in to replace Rishabh Pant, while Akash Deep is set to be ruled out with a back injury. Harshit Rana is in contention to replace the Bengal pacer, while Prasidh Krishna can also get an opportunity.
