Steven Smith, unbeaten on 68, anchored Australia's innings, guiding them to a strong position by stumps. His contributions, alongside Labuschagne's 72 and Khawaja's 57, ensured Australia's dominance in the opening sessions. It was also a historic feat, as this marked the first instance since 2022 in Rawalpindi where Australia's top four batters all scored half-centuries in the same innings.
