IND vs AUS, Champions Trophy 2025: India-Australia Clash Breaks Viewership Record at 66.9 Crore on JioHotstar

India vs Australia semi-final contest of the ongoing Champions Trophy 2025 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium in Dubai on Tuesday (March 4) broke the record for viewership on JioHotstar.

The peak concurrency, which is the highest number of viewers during a live stream, for the India-Australia match on JioHotstar, formed by the merger of erstwhile platforms JioCinema and Disney +HotStar, was at 669 million viewers.

When Australia won the toss and opted to bat first on the sluggish wicket in Dubai, the viewership had touched 18 crore as Steve Smith and Co managed to put on a fighting total of 264. As expected, the viewers increased when India started their run chase.

It crossed the record set by the India vs Pakistan match when the Men in Blue crossed the line thanks to six from KL Rahul off the first delivery of the 49th over. The concurrent viewership reached 66.9 crore when India completed the record chase against Australia.

Virat Kohli scored a crucial 84, while the star batter was joined by 40-run knocks from Shreyas Iyer and Rahul to guide India to the Champions Trophy 2025 final, where they will face either South Africa or New Zealand on Sunday (March 9).

The IND vs AUS matchwas also live telecast on the terrestrial channels of JioStar, the newly formed joint venture by the merger of Viacom18 and Star India. However, viewership numbers will be released only a week later by the television audience measurement body Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC).

In the last of Champions Trophy outing of the Men in Blue - the India vs New Zealand clash, the viewership crossed over 40 crore (400 million) as Rohit Sharma's side registered a 44-run win over the Black Caps.

Earlier, the India-Pakistan match in Dubai had touched a record viewership of 60.2 crore on the streaming platform of the newly created platform JioHotstar. The peak concurrency was 60.2 crore when Virat Kohli hit the winning runs chasing a target of 241 runs.
