IND vs AUS: Dinesh Karthik was spot on with his analysis and prediction as India took on Australia in their first match of the World Cup 2023 at the MA Chidambaram Stadium (Chepauk) on Sunday, October 8.
Just before Kuldeep Yadav started to bowl the 36th over of the match, Dinesh Karthik made a prediction regarding his Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) teammate Glenn Maxwell. He said that the star all-rounder would look to clear to attack Kuldeep.

"I have a strong feeling that he will look to go down town against Kuldeep Yadav. He would target that long-off and long-on zone. He is very strong there," Dinesh Karthik said in the commentary box.
Cut to the fifth delivery of the 36th over, Maxwell got his leg stump castled after trying to dispatch a delivery from Kuldeep Yadav towards long-on and deep midwicket region. He stayed on the back foot and created room to launch the shot but missed the line of the ball completely.
Just after the dismissal, Karthik reasserted that he knew Maxwell would look to attack Kuldeep Yadav. The Australian had a devastated look on his face after watching his leg-stump getting uprooted. He walked back to the pavilion continuously shaking his head in disappointment.
Earlier in the innings, Kuldeep Yadav also picked the crucial wicket of David Warner who scored 41 off 52 balls in the match. Warner played back a delivery straight into the hands of Kuldeep.
After the fall of Glenn Maxwell's wicket, the Australian scorecard read 140/6 in 35.35 overs. Ravichandran Ashwin struck in the following over to leave Australia, who opted to bat first in the match, reeling at 140/7 in 36.2 overs.
