IND vs AUS Final: India were under tremendous pressure while defending 241 runs in the World Cup 2023 final against Australia at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Sunday, when Jasprit Bumrah struck twice to bring India back in the contest.
Bumrah dismissed a dangerous Mitchell Marsh (15) in the fifth over, before getting the big wicket of Steve Smith in the seventh over. Australia, who were cruising at 41/1 in four overs, were reduced to 47/3 at the end of the 7th over.

Bumrah bowled five overs in his first spell to give 21 runs for two wickets. The effort was extremely impressive, considering that he gave away 15 runs in the first over.
The spell and the two wickets from Jasprit Bumrah brought the energy back in over one lakh fans present at the Narendra Modi Stadium and billions watching from the comforts of their homes.
Harsha Bhogle was among one of the firsts to praise the 29-year-old for his sublime effort. Here's how Bhogle and others reacted on X (formerly known as Twitter).
Earlier in the match, India managed to hit only 16 boundaries as they were restricted to 240 in 50 overs. On a slow batting surface, Australia bowlers showed a lot of discipline to make run-scoring extremely difficult for India batters. 80 runs were scored in the first 10 overs.
India could gather 160 runs only in the next 40 overs. A total of only 16 boundaries were scored in the Indian innings. The last over 40 overs saw just four boundaries.
