IND vs AUS Final: Yuvraj Singh points how India can end up losing World Cup 2023 final vs Australia

IND vs AUS Final: Yuvraj Singh has pointed out the only way India can lose the World Cup 2023 final against Australia at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Sunday, November 19.

The 2011 World Cup-winning all-rounder said India can lose the summit clash only due to their mistake before adding that the only way Australia can create pressure was by getting the wickets of Indian top three Shubman Gill, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli - early in the innings.

“India can lose the final by their own mistakes. We have seen this in the past. The top three batters are very important. If they score runs, Australia have no chance. But if the Aussies manage to get rid of our top three, India will be under pressure. It will be interesting to see how the middle-order handles the situation,” Yuvraj Singh said on Aaj Tak.

Yuvraj Singh, who was also part of the Indian team which won the 2007 T20 World Cup, also drew comparisons between the Australian team which won the World Cup in 2003, and the current Indian squad under the leadership of Rohit Sharma. He said that Team India was having seven to eight match-winners playing together.

“India are playing cricket in a similar fashion like we saw from Australia in 2003. They were undefeated and met us in the final. Now, India are undefeated and will play Australia in the final. India are looking strong and look set to win the World Cup,” Yuvraj Singh said.

India had lost the final of the 2003 World Cup against Australia by 135 runs. India are chasing their third World Cup title, while Australia are eyeing their record-extending sixth World Cup trophy.
