IND vs AUS: Harbhajan Singh thinks Yuzvendra Chahal has 'fought with someone' big in Indian cricket

Harbhajan Singh has made a wild guess after Yuzvendra Chahal was not picked for the three-match ODI series against Australia starting September 22. Chahal was earlier not picked in the India Asia Cup 2023 and World Cup 2023 squad.

After the snub, Yuzvendra Chahal signed to play for Kent in their remaining matches of the County Championship 2023. He is currently in the UK playing for the Jack Leaning-led side. In the first outing for Nottinghamshire, he picked five wickets across the two innings.

The star spinner was not picked for the first two ODI matches against Australia despite several regular members being rested. Even though the selectors called back Ashwin in the ODI squad after 18 months and also named Washington Sundar in the 17-member squad, Chahal's name continued to miss.

India great Harbhajan Singh while reviewing the team reckoned that Chahal has most probably "fought with someone" or said "something to someone".

"Yuzvendra Chahal should have been here. He has not been given an opportunity. It is beyond my understanding. Either he has fought with someone or he has said something to someone, I don't know. If we talk only about skill, his name should have been there in this team because a lot of Team India players are resting," Harbhajan said on his official YouTube channel.

Captain Rohit Sharma while announcing the squad for the Asia Cup 2023 had given a ray of hope to Chahal, Ashwin and Sundar.

"But the door is open for all. If we need Chahal in World Cup, we will try to squeeze him in. The same goes for Ashwin and Washington," Rohit Sharma had said.

While Washington Sundar and Ravichandran Ashwin have got the opportunity to audition, Yuzvendra Chahal was not given a chance to put forward his case in India's last ODI series before the start of World Cup 2023.
