India pacer Mohammed Shami was felicitated at the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) annual function on Saturday (September 14).
In a glittering Annual Award Ceremony, CAB handed India's pace star Mohammad Shami a special award for his excellent performance in the Cricket World Cup 2023.

Shami was magnificent in the ODI World Cup last year and finished with 24 wickets to his name, the most in the tournament.
Although the India pacer has been out of action since then with an injury, Shami is currently in advanced rehab phase and is likely to return to action soon. The 34-year-old is in the mix to make a return to the Test team, and with India's Australia tour on the horizon, Shami will be aiming to get into the mix ahead of the series.
And as Shami received the award, the player made a huge revelation. Shami said that he will be willing to play a few matches for Bengal in the upcoming Ranji Trophy. The upcoming Ranji Trophy is set to start on October 11, with a few rounds of matches taking place before India's tour to Australia. The India pacer mentioned he is eyeing playing a couple of matches for Bengal.
"I want to definitely play for Bengal next season. I am looking forward to play two to three matches for Bengal in Ranji. It will help me to make a comeback in the international cricket. I have been training at the NCA and I want to play as and when I a 100 percent fit," Shami said at the event.
When asked about which team may have the advantage in the high-voltage clash, Shami was confident about India's continued dominance.
"I think India are favourites to win the series. In the last series in Australia, we played with a young team with a lot of senior players missing. But we proved we were the best. So I feel the next series will be competitive one and India will be victorious," the India pacer added.
The five-match Test series starts on November 22 in Perth and will conclude with the final Test match in Sydney at the turn of the year.
