India has been handed with a fresh blow ahead of the 5th Test in Sydney. The Indian team is currently trailing the series 1-2 and have now a fresh issue.
As per reports, pacer Akash Deep is likely to miss out the Sydney Test with an injury. Akash Deep is said to be having a back problem which may rule him out of the final encounter.

As reported by Express Sports, Akash Deep's injury disrupts India's preparations for the decisive Test, starting January 3. Harshit Rana is likely to step in as the third seamer, aiming to provide support to lead pacer Jasprit Bumrah, whose workload management has now become a pressing concern for the team.
Harshit Rana's inclusion might not be the only change for the SCG Test. The team management is considering bringing Prasidh Krishna into the playing XI, possibly at the expense of an all-rounder like Washington Sundar or Ravindra Jadeja. However, with the SCG pitch traditionally favoring spin, India may still opt for a two-spinner strategy.
Additionally, batting adjustments are also on the table. Shubman Gill, who has been out of form but is highly regarded, could return to the lineup at the critical No. 3 position. There are also whispers of a change in the wicketkeeping department, as Rishabh Pant's reckless performance in Melbourne has drawn criticism. Dhruv Jurel, who played the series opener in Perth, is a strong candidate to replace him behind the stumps for the final encounter.
Rohit Sharma is likely to continue as India captain in the final match, which may also be the last match for him in Tests.
