The 2024-25 Border-Gavaskar Trophy series between India and Australia is evolving into an edge-of-the-seat contest as we approach towards the end of 2024.
In the first match held in Perth, the visitors secured a massive victory by 295 runs under the leadership of fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah.

The second Test, a pink-ball encounter in Adelaide, saw regular captain Rohit Sharma returning to take charge, but India suffered a crushing 10-wicket loss to Pat Cummins and his team. Meanwhile, the third match in Brisbane was heavily influenced by rain, resulting in a draw.
India's star pacer, Jasprit Bumrah is in red-hot form as he leads the leading wicket-takers chart of the series with 21 scalps in 3 matches. With that being said, the Mumbai Indians man is now on the brink of becoming the country's best-ever player in an ICC list.
The 31-year-old, who has 890 rating points under his belt, will look to go past Ravichandran Ashwin's 904 points in the upcoming Melbourne Test. Ashwin, who recently retired from international cricket, is till now the highest-rated Indian player as per the ICC list with 904 points. Another fabulous outing against the Aussies will surely help him to pip Ashwin.
He also happens to be just nine wickets away from becoming the first Indian fast bowler to claim 30 wickets in a single Border-Gavaskar Trophy series at the MCG. Additionally, Bumrah needs five more wickets in the fourth Test to become the first Indian bowler to take 20 wickets at the historic MCG.
With 15 wickets already to his name at the venue, a single dismissal in the fourth Test would see him overtake Anil Kumble as the Indian with the highest wicket tally at the ground.
The 4th Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy will commence on 26th December on Boxing Day as both the sides look to take a huge advantage before the final Test.
