IND vs AUS : Jasprit Bumrah Scripts History, Pips Kapil Dev To Achieve MASSIVE Feat During 3rd Test

IND vs AUS : India's premium fast-bowler, Jasprit Bumrah re-wrote the history books on Wednesday, 18th December in Brisbane during Day 5 of the India-Australia 3rd Test.

He became the nation's all-time leading wicket-taker in Tests in Australia, by beating the legendary Kapil Dev to the feat.

In Australia's second innings, Bumrah made an impact by claiming two quick wickets. He first dismissed Usman Khawaja (8), clean bowling him, and followed it up in the next over by removing Marnus Labuschagne.

While Khawaja was bowled out by the seasoned Indian pacer, Labuschagne was caught behind by Rishabh Pant.

Bumrah has scalped 53 wickets in the 10 Tests he has played in Australia, while Kapil Dev ended his career with 51 wickets from 11 Tests on Australian turf.

When it comes to the most wickets in India vs Australia Test matches, Australian off-spinner Nathan Lyon leads the chart with 124 wickets from 30 Tests. Pat Cummins and Mitchell Starc follow closely behind with 64 and 63 wickets, respectively.

When Australia came down to bat for the second time with a 186-run lead, the Indian bowlers didn't waste much time and made things count right from the word go. Jasprit Bumrah took 3 wickets, followed by Mohammed Siraj and Akash Deep picking up two wickets each to keep the hosts at bay with a score of 89/7. The home side then decided to declare the innings, leaving the Indians to chase 274 runs in the allotted 56 overs of the final day.

A win or draw for the Indians will keep their World Test Championship (WTC) Final hopes alive and a further loss will plummet the Rohit Sharma-led side's chances of reaching a third consecutive final of the biggest stage of the longest format.
