IND vs AUS: Josh Hazlewood reveals what Australia will do 24 hours before meeting India in World Cup 2023 final

IND vs AUS: Pacer Josh Hazlewood has revealed about Australia's plan ahead of the World Cup 2023 final against India at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Sunday, November 19.

Australia qualified for the World Cup 2023 final after beating South Africa by three wickets at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata on Thursday, November 16. Josh Hazlewood picked the wickets of Quinton de Kock and Rassie van der Dussen.

Hazlewood revealed that the Australian cricket team will play golf on Saturday, 24 hours before meeting hosts India in the mega final. Hazlewood said playing golf to take mind off the game has been helpful for the team in the high-pressure tournament.

"We'll have a travel day (today) and probably play golf on the Saturday I reckon before the game and then turn up Sunday for the game. It's been pretty similar the whole way through, I've been lucky enough to get out and have a bit of a hit (of golf) occasionally which has been good. But we might walk the 18, I think," Josh Hazlewood told cricket.com.au.

The 32-year-old also expressed confidence of doing well in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 final. He said Australia have far better confidence than other teams when it comes to ICC knockout matches. He said Australia's past history of winning five World Cup titles gives the team a psychological advantage.

"Have confidence in what got you to this point, and we just seem to keep building and building and building and keep getting better every game. I think other teams probably may not have the same confidence when it comes to the big games," Josh Hazlewood told cricket.com.cu.

"Whether we're sort of leaning on the success of Australia previously, not that it gives us a free hit but it gives us a lot more confidence in the big games to show what we always do all the way through, and do it in big games as well," he added.

"It's always nice to have a few trophies in the cabinet to lean on, for that confidence and know that it that actually works. So it's as simple as that, just sticking to the basics and playing well on the night."

Australia have played the World Cup final seven times and have lost only twice - 1975 to the West Indies and 1996 to Sri Lanka. They have lost a World Cup semi-final match only once. India defeated Australia by six wickets in the league stage of the tournament.
