The 21-year-old has etched his name into the history books as he scored a magnificent maiden Test hundred. The young batting prodigy, playing in only his third Test match, delivered a heroic knock under immense pressure, rescuing India from a precarious position on Day 3.

Reddy's innings was a masterclass in composure and technique. Walking to the crease with India in trouble at 191/6, he showcased maturity well beyond his years, steering the innings with a mix of confident strokeplay and gritty defense. His partnerships with the lower order turned the tide for India as the visitors have not just saved the follow-on, but ended the day on a high as they remain 358/9 with rain interrupting the play.

Adding to the emotional resonance of the moment, Reddy's father was present in the stands, witnessing his son achieve this monumental milestone on one of cricket's grandest stages. The joy and pride on his father's face were evident as Reddy raised his bat to acknowledge the crowd and his family after reaching the three-figure mark.

He added a crucial partnership of 127 runs for the 8th wicket with Washington Sundar. With Mohammed Siraj on the other end at the last wicket, Nitish brought up his maiden ton with a lofted on-drive.

Nitish has hit 10 boundaries and 1 six so far and will be hoping to add to his tally on Day 4 of the match. India are still 116 runs behind and will be hoping to have a positive outing on Sunday (December 29).
