As the Border-Gavaskar Trophy stands finely poised at 1-1, Australian pacer Josh Hazlewood took a moment to reflect on his time at Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) alongside Indian pacer Mohammed Siraj.
In an exclusive chat with Star Sports, Hazlewood expressed his admiration for Siraj's skillset and passion, lauding his former teammate's development and leadership.

"He's great! I really enjoyed my time at RCB with Siraj," Hazlewood said, recalling their shared experiences in the IPL.
"He's probably the leader of the attack there, to a degree, and he's another one who's a bit like Virat [Kohli]-very passionate, goes with the flow of the game, gets the crowd up, all that sort of stuff," Hazlewood added.
Siraj's ability to step up during high-pressure situations in the IPL was another aspect Hazlewood highlighted. Although the India pace star will be playing for Gujarat Titans in IPL 2025, the Australian still has him in high regards.
"Bowls some serious spells in the IPL in the last few years for sure. He's just a good character, I think, and it's good to see sometimes," the Australian pacer continued.
Siraj, who has emerged as a key bowler for both India and RCB, has been in the spotlight for his fiery spells and unrelenting energy on the field. His knack for swinging the ball at high speeds and delivering breakthroughs in critical moments has drawn praise from several quarters, with Hazlewood being the latest to applaud his evolution.
With the India-Australia Test series evenly balanced after the first two matches, Siraj will be eager to continue showcasing his mettle against the Australians. As the third Test looms, both teams will be looking to get the elusive lead in the series.
The India pacer recently got reprimanded by ICC after his on-field spat with Travis Head and will be looking forward to making a strong comeback in the Brisbane Test.
