India's upcoming Test encounter against Australia is set to start from Friday (January 3) at the Sydney Cricket Ground.
India are currently trailing 1-2 in the Border Gavaskar Trophy and will be aiming to end the campaign with a victory and retain he trophy. A win is also imperative for the Indian team to keep their WTC Final hopes alive.

As team India takes field in Sydney, a number of changes are expected in the side. Amid the current controversies of the Indian team regarding Gautam Gambhir's dressing down and disharmony in the team, a number of players can make their way out.
Rishabh Pant is likely to be left out from the Sydney Test. The wicketkeeper-batter gifted his wicket away twice in Melbourne and may have to face consequences. Dhruv Jurel, who played the first Test in Perth, is likely to replace him. On the other hand, India may recall Shubman Gill in place of Washington Sundar to strengthen their batting.
Washington Sundar's chances of making in the Sydney team will depend on the pitch, as team management may keep him if the turf is spin-friendly at the SCG.
Meanwhile, Akash Deep is set to be sidelined for the final Test in Sydney. The Indian pacer is struggling with a back injury, which shall rule him out. Harshit Rana, who played in the first two matches, is likely to be replacing Akash Deep, but Prasidh Krishna is also in the reckoning.
