India legend Sunil Gavaskar has massively vented his anger after the controversial dismissal of Yashasvi Jaiswal in the 4th Test against Australia.
On Monday (December 30), the final day of the match, Yashasvi Jaiswal was given out by the third umpire despite evidence from technology that the batter was not out.

During the Indian innings, a short delivery from Pat Cummins went though to the keeper after a failed attempt of pull from Jaiswal. The Aussies appealed but the on-field umpire gave it not out. Following a DRS call, the 3rd umpire Sharafuddoula, from Bangladesh, gave the India batter out.
Although the visuals showed a slight deflection in the course of the ball after passing the bat, Snickometer showed no evidence of an edge either on the batter's bat or gloves. Despite that, the 3rd umpire went with the visuals and gave the player the marching orders. The technology gave a clear evidence of negativity, but Sharafuddoula was convinced and overturned the on-field decision.
India has already lost the Test match by 184 runs and now trail 1-2 in the series. And India legend Sunil Gavaskar was not happy with the verdict. While commentating, the India legend lambasted the Bangladeshi umpire for the baffling decision.
"If you can't see the deflection, whether you see it or not, it can be an optical illusion. Why are we using technology? We are using technology to show a sneak. Here you can see that the line is a straight line. Whatever you are seeing can be an optical illusion. Don't go with optical illusion. If you are using technology, then go with technology.
Whatever you are seeing is an optical illusion. And the baller was standing straight there," Gavaskar said while commentating in Hindi for Star Sports.
"This is an optical illusion. So it is absolutely not out. According to me, this is not out. If you could see something from the snicko, then it was different. This is a wrong decision. Absolutely wrong decision," he added.
The India legend also went on to criticize the same while speaking with the Australian broadcasters.
There can be an optical illusion. We see that often with brand new ball. If the evidence of the technology is not to be taken, why have it at all. That will definitely be a query as far as the Indians are concerned," he added while speaking with 7+ network.
Gavaskar was most recently at the centre of focus after his rant on Rishabh Pant when the southpaw threw his wicket away in the first innings.
BCCI vice-president Rajiv Shukla was also not amused with the decision and took to social media.
"Yashaswi Jaiswal was clearly not out. Third umpire should have taken note of what technology was suggesting. While over ruling field umpire third umpire should have solid reasons," Shukla wrote on X.
