India pacer Umesh Yadav on Thursday became only the fifth pacer to pick hundred Test wickets in India. He achieved the feat on Day 2 of the third Test between India and Australia in Indore.
With conditions ideal for reverse swing, the 35-year-old castled the stumps of Mitchell Starc to achieve the milestone. Earlier, he had trapped Australia all-rounder Cameron Green in front of the stumps to get his first wicket in the match. He sent Todd Murphy's off-stump flying to grab his third wicket and finish with figures of 3/12 in the first innings.
The Vidarbha pacer has joined an elite list of just five pacers to take 100 Test wickets in India. Kapil Dev, Javagal Srinath, Zaheer Khan and Ishant Sharma are the other four pacers.

Overall, Umesh has played 55 Test matches and picked 168 matches at an average of 29.74.
The Nagpur-born star is having a decent outing until now in the third Test of the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy. He blasted two sixes to take a collapsing India innings past 100 and scored 17 runs off 13 balls.
He did not feature in the first two Tests as India opted to go with the combination of Mohammed Shami and Mohammed Siraj. Shami made way for Umesh in the Indore Test.
