Australia opener Usman Khawaja has been in stellar form in the ongoing Border Gavaskar Trophy.
He has batted well in this series and the best one was kept for the last Test as the southpaw is dominating the Indians in Ahmedabad.
And after completing his 150 mark on the 2nd day, Khawaja joined a rare list of Australian batters with a unique record to his name. Khawaja was dismissed after a fantastic 180 runs and now has etched his names in the history books.
Usman Khawaja became only the 4th Australian opener to score 150+ runs in a Test match in India. And he became the first player to achieve this since Matthew Hayden, who last scored 150+ in India during the memorable 2001 series.
The first Australian opener to achieve the aforementioned record was Jim Burke when he scored 150+ runs in 1956. Graham Yallop was the second batter from Australia to reach the milestone while Matthew Hayden was the third batter to do so.
| Batter | Score | Year | Venue |
| 1. Jim Burke | 161 | 1956 | Mumbai |
| 2. Graham Yallop | 167 | 1979 | Kolkata |
| 3. Matthew Hayden | 203 | 2001 | Kolkata |

Australia batter Cameron Green also scored his maiden Test hundred in the Ahmedabad Test. The all-rounder batted brilliantly in the match and scored an eye-catching 114 runs.
