Ahmedabad Hotel Prices & Flight Charges Surge Due to High Voltage IND vs AUS, World Cup Final Match

With the ICC World Cup 2023 final fast approaching and the home team India set for the title clash against Australia on Sunday (November 19) at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, the hotel prices and flight charges have seen a major spike in the city.

According to reports, the prices of hotels and airfares have witnessed a major surge. The price of flight tickets to Ahmedabad increased by more than 100 times for the dates near to World Cup final, while the cost for accomodation has increased from Rs 24,000 to almost 10 times the price.

The report from Moneycontrol states that within October, the ticket prices for hotels increased to Rs 2.15 Lakh per night. There has been a massive increase in hotel rates at hotel booking platforms like Booking.com, MakeMyTrip, and Agoda.

Even a normal hotel room in Ahmedabad has also seen spike with a person reportedly having to pay around Rs 10,000 for a night's stay. Meanhwile, the four and five-star accommodation have raised the price to Rs 1 lakh for a night's stay.

Earlier, there was a similar kind of spike seen when India faced Pakistan in the league stage match. In fact, the prices soared as soon as the schedule was release in June.

The recent surge started as soon as Rohit Sharma's side defeated New Zealand in the first semi-final at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Wednesday (November 15).

So, fans who want to get to the venue to cheer on the side will need to shell out huge amounts or use alternatives of travel and accomodation arrangements to fall into the trap of this surge.

Some fans have also made economical suggestions on social media for the ones that will be travelling to Ahmedabad by flight and the ones that will stay overnight before or after the match.

"Travel to Indore via flight. Then take a Bus to Ahmedabad. (Even a cab would still cost less than the direct flight to Ahmedabad)," said an X user.

A few X users also suggested that taking a hotel in Gandhinagar would be a cheaper option and added that traveling to Ahmedabad from there would not cost as much as the options around the host city.

With the venue expected to hold over 1 lakh audience, the demand for ticktes for IND vs AUS World Cup 2023 final also will go up and expect a full capacity of a sea of blue to fill up the stadium as they hope to see India lift their third ODI World Cip.
