IND vs AUS World Cup 2023 Final: Man Wearing 'Stop Bombing Palestine' T-shirt Invades Field, Hugs Virat Kohli

IND vs AUS: A fan wearing 'Stop Bombing Palestine' and 'Free Palestine' t-shirt breached security and invaded the pitch to hug Virat Kohli and KL Rahul who were batting in the middle.

Virat Kohli was taken by surprise by the fan who was sporting a mask in Palestine's colours and holding a flag in his hand. The security personnels soon escorted the fan out of the stadium. The match had to be halted briefly because of the pitch invasion.

The pro-Palestinian supporter was thrown out of the stadium. News agency ANI later reported that the man who entered the stadium has been brought to the Chandkheda Police Station in Ahmedabad for further questioning.

A crowd of over one lakh has turned up at the Narendra Modi Stadium for the India vs Australia ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 final. Australia won the toss and invited India to bat first.

India lost the wicket of Shubman Gill (4) early but Rohit Sharma's 31-ball 47 gave India another flying start. The Indian skipper hit four fours and three sixes in his blistering knock.

However, Australia bounced back in the match with two back-to-back wickets. Glenn Maxwell dismissed Rohit Sharma in the 10th over.Pat Cummins struck in the next over to send Shreyas Iyer packing for three off four balls.

At the time this article was published, Virat Kohli and KL Rahul had forged a 50-plus partnership to keep India afloat in the summit clash. India are chasing their third World Cup title and first ICC trophy since 2013.
