It has been yet another fantastic batting display by Australia batter Steve Smith, this time at the World Test Championship Final.
Smith brought about a milestone 31st hundred of his career on Thursday (June 8) in the Final against India and the entire crowd of Kennington Oval witnessed a gritty and controlled inning from the maestro.

It started with some difficulties but Smith curated his knock in a stellar way and battled hard before finding the rhythm. And when he found his comfort, the Australian made the most of it.
Smith came when Aussies were in a spot of bother after losing David Warner, and soon they were 76/3. From there, Smith and Travis Head built a monumental foundation for them and added 285 runs for the 4th wicket.
Smith got his 31st Test ton and was finally dismissed by Shardul Thakur after scoring 121 crucial runs off 268 balls. And along the way, Smith has reached many milestones and achievements. Here is the list of achievements the Aussie batter has breached-
Steve Smith now has 31 Test hundreds, the third-highest by an Australian in the format. Only Steve Waugh (32) and Ricky Ponting (41) are ahead of him in the list. He also has the most Test hundreds by an active player across the world at the moment.
Smith scored his 9th Test ton against India, the joint-most by a player against the Indian team. England batter Joe Root also has 9 Test hundreds against Australia's WTC Final 2023 oppositions.

Steve Smith scored his 7th Test century in England, the joint-second in the list by an overseas player. Only Don Bradman (11) is ahead of him on the list. His WTC Final hundred meant Smith surpassed former West Indies batter Gordon Greenindge and current India coach Rahul Dravid, both having 6 centuries each in England.
This is Steve Smith's 5th 50+ across all formats in an ICC knockout match. The Australian has previously scored more than half-century in the World Cup quarter-final 2015, WC 2015 semi-final, WC Final 2015, and WC semi-final 2019.
