IND vs BAN 1st T20: India cruised to a commanding seven-wicket victory over Bangladesh in the first T20I of the three-match series, played at the New Madhavrao Scindia Cricket Stadium in Gwalior on October 6 -- Sunday.

Chasing a modest target of 128, India made short work of the chase, finishing with 132/3 in just 11.5 overs, courtesy of Hardik Pandya's explosive 39 off 16 deliveries. India now leads the series 1-0.

India's captain, Suryakumar Yadav, won the toss and elected to bowl first. The decision paid dividends immediately, as India's bowlers, led by Varun Chakravarthy and Arshdeep Singh, tore through Bangladesh's batting line-up. Chakravarthy and Arshdeep each claimed three wickets, restricting Bangladesh to 127 all out in 19.5 overs.

Mehidy Hasan Miraz was the top scorer for the visitors, contributing 35 runs in an otherwise lackluster batting performance. Despite the track being deemed batting-friendly, Bangladesh struggled to build momentum, losing wickets at regular intervals.

India's chase got off to a brisk start, with Abhishek Sharma smashing a quick-fire 16 off seven balls. However, his innings was cut short due to a direct-hit run-out by Towhid Hridoy. Sanju Samson (24 off 18) and Suryakumar Yadav (28 off 13) kept the scoreboard ticking, and although both fell in quick succession, India remained firmly in control of the game.

Pandya then took over, dispatching Bangladesh's bowlers to all parts of the ground. His innings included two sixes and four boundaries, sealing the victory for India with 49 balls to spare. Arshdeep Singh, who recorded impressive figures of 3/14, was named Player of the Match. He credited his success to adapting to the conditions and maintaining a sharp bowling rhythm.

With this comprehensive victory, India will look to wrap up the series in the next match, while Bangladesh will need to regroup and address their batting woes to stay competitive.
