IND vs BAN 1st T20I: India will take on visitors Bangladesh in the first T20I of the three-match series at the New Madhavrao Scindia Cricket Stadium in Gwalior on Sunday, October 6. It's the first international match being held at the newly-built venue.

An international match is being held at the venue for the first time and so there is a lot of curiosity around how the pitch will behave. The matches in Gwalior were earlier played at the Captain Roop Singh Stadium.

"The Gwalior pitch was low and slow at the start, but the authorities made it more batter-friendly later. This was evident during the Madhya Pradesh Premier League when scores significantly increased, with 200 runs being crossed multiple times," an official from the Madhya Pradesh Cricket Association (MPCA) told Business Standard.

Batting-friendly pitch will be on offer in Gwalior for the first T20I. The straight boundaries are small and the square boundaries are longer, and that would force the bowlers to be very particular about their bowling plans.

The average score at the venue during the Madhya Pradesh T20 League was 171. In one of the matches, the team batting first scored 278 runs, and the chasing team settled for 239. In the Madhya Pradesh T20 League 2024, team bowling first won eight of the 12 matches at the new stadium.
