India's bowling all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja played one of the impactful knocks in the Chepauk Test against Bangladesh. In the wake of a top-order collapse on the first day's play, Jadeja hung around and played second fiddle to Ravichandran Ashwin.
The Navagam-born cricketer took some time to get settled at the crease before playing some lovely shots. He paced his innings with a flurry of 10 fours and 2 hits over the fence.

When India were reeling at 144/6 in the first innings, Jadeja and Ashwin took the game away from the visitors, courtesy of their rock-solid 199-run partnership for the seventh wicket, which was more than enough to put the hosts in a strong zone.
Jadeja's knock not only helped India post a chunk of runs in the first innings but also pushed him to go past some big names in the Test run tally against Bangladesh. Notably, he went beyond Shreyas Iyer (202 runs), MS Dhoni (193 runs), Virender Sehwag (176 runs), Shikhar Dhawan's (173 runs) Test run tally against Bangladesh, which is another feather in Jadeja's cap.
In addition, he also went past MS Dhoni, Virender Sehwag and Shreyas Iyer's Test fifties tally against Bangladesh. Earlier, all four of them were tied with two fifties each against the Tigers. However, after a stellar 86 in the Chepauk Test, Jadeja went past the trio.
The all-rounder who will get a chance to bat in the second innings of the ongoing Test, will be aiming to go past Murali Vijay (295 runs), Dinesh Karthik (270 runs), Mayank Agarwal's (257 runs) Test run tally against Bangladesh.
Meanwhile, Team India are in a commanding position in the first Test, with a huge lead of 308 runs. India finished the second day's play at 81/3, with Shubman Gill (33) and Rishabh Pant (12) remain unbeaten at the crease. The duo will look to navigate the red ball on a challenging red-soil track on Saturday (September 21).
