Bangladesh were 103/3 in 35 overs as incessant rain forced early stumps on Day 1 of the second Test at Green Park in Kanpur on Friday, September 27.
The players left the field one hour after lunch due to bad light, but soon the entire ground had to be covered as it started to rain heavily in the industrial city of Uttar Pradesh.

Earlier, the toss was also delayed by an hour due to soggy outfield. The first session from 10:30 to 12:30 was successfully executed as it started to rain heavily only after the final ball before lunch. But it stopped soon, and the players had to no wait for more than 15 minutes after the scheduled lunch to get back on the field.
Talking about the limited cricketing actions on the opening day of the series-decider, India surprised everyone by opting to bowl first and playing with three spinners after winning the toss.
It was only the second instance of India opting to bowl first in a home Test match in the last nine years, and only second in Green Park's Test cricket history since 1952.
Despite a black soil pitch on offer, Rohit Sharma went forward with the decision to play with an unchanged eleven, meaning that local boy Kuldeep Yadav was not included in the eleven.
India kept things tight under the overcast conditions but had to wait for nine overs to break the Bangladesh opening partnership of 26 runs. Zakir Hasan was dismissed for a 24-ball duck after a superb catch from Yashasvi Jaiswal in slip off Akash Deep's first over.
The pacer soon trapped the second opener Shadman Islam (24 off 36) also in the front of the stumps, reminding everyone of his two quick scalps in the first innings of the first Test as well.
The delivery angled in after pitching as the batter missed his flick as Rohit went for the review after confident feedback from his teammates.
But with no major assistance for the India bowlers, Mominul Haque and captain Najmul Hossain Shanto led Bangladesh's recovery with a 51-run partnership.
Before India could fret over the partnership, Ashwin, the star of Chennai Test, produced a delivery which turned back sharply to hit Shanto (31) on his pad.
Haque (40*) and veteran batter Mushfiqur Rahim (6*) will look to carry forward the Bangladesh innings on Saturday. However, the weather forecast for Day 2 also isn't very bright.
