It is not that easy to muster such a huge score by an individual as it demands not just skill and technique alone but also sheer focus and mental resilience. Only three Indian batsmen have scored double centuries against Bangladesh in Tests.

1. Sachin Tendulkar: The Master Blaster was the first Indian to score a double century against Bangladesh. In 2004, Sachin scored an unbeaten 248 in Dhaka. The Little Master took the bowling attack to the cleaners by pacing his innings with the help of 35 fours. His double hundred helped India secure a massive win by an innings and 140 runs. Overall, Sachin hit five double centuries in his illustrious Test career, but this knock against the Tigers stands out as his personal best.

2. Mayank Agarwal: Mayank Agarwal, who was once a regular feature in India’s Test setup, is the second Indian to score a double century against Bangladesh. In 2019, during the ICC World Test Championship, the right-hander smashed 243 in Indore. He combined his game with a blend of controlled aggression and finesse, wherein he hit a flurry of 28 fours and 8 hits over the fence. He played a crucial role in India’s victory as the team won the game by an innings and 130 runs. Mayank was adjudged the Man of the Match.

3. Virat Kohli: The third Indian to score a double century against Bangladesh is none other than India's run-machine Virat Kohli. In 2017, he scored 204 in Hyderabad. He paced his knock with 24 fours, which was instrumental in setting up a colossal 206-run win for India. As expected, he was adjudged the Man of the Match for his outstanding performance. The senior pro will step into the field in the upcoming Test series against the Tigers and he has a great chance to become the first Indian to score two double centuries versus Bangladesh in Tests.
