Here is a look at what the captains of India and Bangladesh said at the post match presentation ceremony, where the player of the match and the series also reflected on their performances:
The losing captain, Najmul Hossain Shanto said: "We didn't play our best cricket. We didn't execute our plans as a batting group in all the three matches. Bowling-wise, couple of overs we bowled well in some of the matches. Today all the bowlers didn't bowl well."
On what Bangladesh need to do, Najmul added: "It is very important that we believe in ourselves that we can compete against any team. We have to change a lot of things, especially the home wicket. Players need to take responsibilities."
On the positives from the series, Najmul said: "The way Hridoy batted today was impressive. I really like all the seamers, they tried to execute their plans. The top-order batsmen need to improve a lot."
The winning captain, Suryakumar said: "We achieved a lot as a team. I want to have selfless cricketers. We want to enjoy each others' success. We are having some fun. No one is bigger than the team.
"We have to be very flexible. Everyone has to chip in. The way they showed it in this series, it has been commendable. Just maintain the good habits and be the same."
The player of the match Samson said: "The dressing room energy and the boys are happy for me. It can get frustrating, I could have done much better. With lots of experience, I know how to deal with the pressure.
"Playing for the country, you come in with a lot of pressure. That pressure was there, I wanted to perform. I kept reminding myself that I should stick to my basics."
Reflecting on the last series, Samson added: "In the last series I got two ducks. The team management backed me. I have been trying to do something like this (five sixes in an over), I was chasing that and it happened today."
The player of the series, Hardik said: "The kind of freedom the skipper and the coach has given, it has been fantastic. This sport, if you can enjoy that's the way you can maximise. Body has been fantastic, God has been kind to help me out. The process continues."
