IND vs BAN 3rd T20I: Samson, Suryakumar Star as India Complete Series Sweep Against Bangladesh

Sanju Samson, Suryakumar Yadav and Ravi Bishnoi starred as India defeated Bangladesh by 133 runs to complete a series sweep at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad on Saturday (October 12).

After Samson and Suryakumar's onslaught powered India to a mammoth total of 297/6 in their allotted 20 overs, spinner Bishnoi claimed three wickets on his return to restrict Bangladesh to 164/7 in 20 overs.

India beat Bangladesh to seal T20I series white-wash

Apart from Bishnoi (3 for 30), who stood out for India with the ball on an unforgiving wicket, pacer Mayank Yadav also took 2 wickets for 32 runs, while Washington Sundar (1 for 4) and Nitish Kumar Reddy (1 for 31) also chipped in with a wicket each.

For Bangladesh in their monumental task of chasing the highest score in T20Is, Towhid Hridoy scored an unbeaten 63* off 42 balls and wicketkeeper-batter Litton Das made 42 off 25 balls in the losing cause.

Earlier, opting to bat first, India lost opener Abhishek Sharma early. But Samson (111 off 47 balls) and Suryakumar (75 off 35 balls) made it a day to forget for the Bangladesh bowlers with a record-breaking 173-run stand for the second wicket.

The carnage did not stop there as Hardik Pandya (47 off 18 balls) and Riyan Parag (34 off 13 balls) carried on the aggressive approach as India went past 200 and got closer to 300 in the closing moments of the contest.

India ended their innings at 297/6 in their 20 overs, with Rinku Singh (8*) finishing things off with a six. Tanzim Hasan Sakib (3/66) was the pick of the bowlers for Bangladesh. Taskin Ahmed, Mustafizur Rahman and Mahmadullah got a wicket each, but all the bowlers were on the expensive side.

India had already sealed the series, having won the first two T20Is in Gwalior and New Delhi respectively. This is India's 10 series sweep in 34 bilateral series so far, most by a team in the format.
