IND vs BAN: Ravichandran Ashwin has revealed about his fitness routine to keep himself ready for India's long Test season which kicked off with their first Test win against Bangladesh in Chennai by 280 runs on Sunday, September 22.
Ashwin starred in the match with a hundred in the first innings, and a five-wicket haul in the second innings. The all-round performance helped him earn him Man of the Match award as India took a 1-0 lead.

In the press conference after the match, Ashwin opened up on his training regime and admitted that it has changed because of his growing age. The veteran off-spinner said he wasn't thinking far ahead, and preparing for one match at a time.
“Like you rightly said, it's a long season. It's tough. Sometimes when you look so far ahead, it can be quite difficult. You're playing like 3-4 months of cricket and 10 Test matches. But sometimes you can't think like that. You have to stack it up, take it one match at a time. I did put in a bit of work getting into it, and I need to have some reserves in the tank," Ashwin, who surpassed Courtney Walsh's tally to become eighth-highest wicket-taker in Test cricket on Sunday, said.
"There are good breaks between games. Hopefully, we'll get small windows for me to keep ironing out fitness issues. More than skill, I think it's about physically being able to go through the season, which is of the utmost importance for me," he added.
38-year-old Ravichandran Ashwin has started to not spend a lot of time on strength training. He revealed that 'a bit of yoga' is also helping him.
"38 is different from 35. "Every bit of work you put in, you have to do doubly hard to earn the right to be there. I've reduced my strength training sessions. I work differently on mobility and other aspects of life. I do a bit of yoga. It's good," Ashwin stated.
India will play four more Test matches (one vs Bangladesh in Kanpur and three-match series vs New Zealand) at home before flying to Australia for the five-Test series. Ashwin is now just nine wickets short of surpassing Nathan Lyon's tally of 530 Test wickets.
