IND vs BAN: 'How these two years flew by' - Arshdeep Singh looking to thrive across all formats, confirms budding friendship with Morkel

By MyKhel Staff

India pacer Arshdeep Singh was in a vibrant mood ahead of the 2nd T20I against Bangladesh.

After a comprehensive win in Gwalior, the Men in Blue will take on the Tigers in a crucial match in Delhi on Wednesday (October 9).

Ahead of that, Arshdeep Singh attended the pre-match press conference where he spoke about his career and current role in the Indian team.

"I am enjoying my career and didn't even get to know how these two years flew by. Whichever the format is I just want to perform. I am focused on learning and want to enjoy my work," Arshdeep said on Tuesday.

The pacer also said that the main advantage of Test cricket is the bowler receives more overs to bowl. The Punjab-born has been knocking on the doors for the Test team but is yet to play in the longest format of the game for India.

"The difference in the red ball is you get more overs. It is an enjoyable thing that in different formats you explore about yourself, you get to learn patience in red ball format. So wherever I go, whichever the format is I want to learn," he added.

Along with that, the Indian pacer confirmed that he has already started to build a friendship with India's bowling coach Morne Morkel. The South African pacer is part of Gautam Gambhir's staff and is expected to play a key role.

"I have only spent two days with Morne [Morkel]. Time will tell how he is, what are the secrets he will share and we have started to build a friendship. I wanted to see how the breeze was playing in the Gwalior. I am trying to learn from Morne how can I improve myself," Arshdeep further added.

When asked if he had seen the pitch at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, Arshdeep confirmed that only captain Suryakumar Yadav will see it and then tell them the plans.
