An explosive maiden T20I century by Sanju Samson and quickfire fifty from skipper Suryakumar Yadav powered India to their biggest team score in T20Is during the third T20I against Bangladesh in Hyderabad on Saturday (October 12).
Samson (111 off 47 balls) and Suryakumar (75 off 35 balls) shared a 173-run stand before Hardik Pandya (47 off 18 balls) and Riyan Parag (34 off 13 balls) also joined in on the massacre to take India to 297/6 in their 20 overs at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium.

297 is the highest total posted by India in T20Is. The previous highest score in T20Is by India was 260/5 against Sri Lanka in 2017. This was also the second highest team score in T20 internationals and the highes by a Test-playing nation. Here is a look at the highest scores:
Opting to bat first, India lost opener Abhishek Sharma early, but the rest was history as Samson and Suryakumar took the attack to the Bangladesh bowlers, hitting regular boundaries as a total of 47 boundaries were scored in the innings.
22 sixes and 25 fours, totalling to 47 boundaries was the highest boundary count in a single T20I innings. Samson alone contributed to 19 boundaries en-route to his maiden T20I century, while his partner in crime Suryakumar smashes 13 boundaries himself.
As far as the sixes record is concerned, India joined the top five with 22 maximums in the innings. 22 is the joint third highest in an innings by a team. Samson once again was the prime contributor with 8 sixes, while Suryakumar hit 5 maximums.
Hardik Pandya and Parag also hit four sixes each during their cameos as the duo put on 70-run stand in quicktime after the Samson-SKY stand came to an end midway through the 15th over.
