Chasing a 222-run target, Bangladesh faltered big time in the run chase and were restricted to 135/9 in their allotted 20 overs. The match witnessed Nitish Reddy and Rinku Singh hit a fifty each for India, and then the bowling unit completely derailed the Bangladeshi batting lineup.

India were invited to bat first and were reduced to 41/3 inside the powerplay but a 108-run partnership between Reddy and Rinku Singh took the game completely away from Bangladesh.

Sanju Samson (10), Abhishek Sharma (15) and Suryakumar Yadav (8) were back in the dugout but the young turks maintained their cool and partnered for 108 runs off just 49 balls.

Reddy brought up his maiden T20I fifty off just 27 balls and finished at 74 off 34. The innings consisted of four fours and seven sixes. Rinku also scored 53 off 29.

Hardik Pandya continued from where he left in the last match and smashed 32 off 19 after the stage was set by Reddy and Rinku. His outburst took India to 221/9 at the end of 20 overs.

In reply, Bangladesh also lost three wickets in the powerplay. Opener Parvez Hossain Emon was clean bowled by Arshdeep Singh, while Litton Das received the same treatment from Varun Chakravarthy. Captain Najmul Hossain Shanto was dismissed by Washington Sundar after a catch from Hardik Pandya, who picked a total of three catches in the match.

Except for Mahmudullah (41), who will be retiring after the series from T20Is, no Bangladesh batter showed any resistance. Mehidy Hasan Miraz (16) fell to Riyan Parag, Jake Ali (1) was outdone by local boy Mayank Yadav, and Rishad Hossain (9) became Chakravarthy's (2/19 in 4 overs) second victim.

Reddy dismissed Tanzim Hasan Sakib and also picked the wicket of Mahmudullah in the final over to finish with figures of 2/23 in four overs.

This was India's biggest in terms of runs, and their 12 consecutive win in the format. This is India's joint-highest streak in the format. Also, the win sealed India's 16th consecutive bilateral T20I series win at home.
