IND vs BAN: Indians who scored a century against Bangladesh in Cricket World Cups

IND vs BAN: Indian cricket team led by Rohit Sharma kick-started their World Cup 2023 venture with a six-wicket win over Australia in Chennai. The Men in Blue got the better of Afghanistan by 8 wickets in Delhi before trouncing Pakistan by 7 wickets in Ahmedabad.

With this special win over the Green Shirts, the Men in Blue registered a hat-trick of wins in the mega tournament, in what has been a perfect start for the hosts. Rohit Sharma and Co will lock horns with the Bangladesh cricket team on October 19, Thursday at Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune.

While India are unbeaten so far, Bangladesh lost two of their three games in the tournament. India will enter the game as the favourites. Sehwag was named the Man of the Match for his sterling knock.

Virat Kohli

Virat Kohli let his bat do the talking in his very first World Cup match against Bangladesh in Mirpur in the 2011 World Cup. He remained unbeaten on 100 off 83 balls in which he struck 8 fours and 2 sixes. In the process, he etched his name into the record books by becoming the first Indian batsman to score a century on his World Cup debut.

Rohit Sharma

Rohit Sharma is certainly one of the players to watch out for in India's upcoming game against Bangladesh. The flamboyant batsman has enjoyed batting against the Tigers in the previous two ICC ODI World Cups, scoring a century in each of the editions (2015, 2019).

He scored 137 off 126 balls including 14 fours and 3 sixes, which powered India to 302/6 in the second quarter-final in Melbourne. India restricted Bangladesh to 193 and ended up winning the game by 109 runs. Rohit was named the Player of the Match.

Rohit Sharma scored an impressive 104 off 92 balls (7 fours, 5 sixes) against Bangladesh in the 2019 World Cup fixture in Birmingham. His knock steered India to 314/9 in 50 overs. Bangladesh put up a great fight in the run-chase but were bowled out for 286. India won the game by 28 runs and Rohit Sharma was adjudged the Man of the Match.
