Bangladesh batter Mominul Haque joined an elusive list with a century against India during the first session of day 4's play in the second Test at the Green Park Stadium in Kanpur on Monday (September 30).
After rain and wet outfields frustrated the teams on the second and third day, bright skies welcomed players and fans on day 4 of the Kanpur Test. While Bangladesh lost 3 wickets before lunch, Mominul remained unbeaten on 102 to take the visitors to 205/6.

Starting the day's play at 107/3, Bangladesh lost Mushfigur Rahim, Litton Das and Shakib Al Hasan as Mominul scored a century that sees him become only the second batter from the country to score a Test hundred on Indian soil.
The 35-year-old, who reached his 13th Test century in 172 balls, joined Mushfiqur Rahim in the list of Bangladesh centurions away against India. Mushfiqur (127) had scored his hunded in the 2017 Test at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad.
Mominul achieved the latest landmark with a sweep shot along the ground behid square against Ravichandran Ashwin before lunch was called on Day 4 of the Kanpur Test. His century is also the second by a vistin batter at the Kanpur venue.
In ten Tests in Kanpur since 1984, only two visiting players have reached the triple-figure mark. One is Mominul and the other being former South Africa all-rounder Andrew Hall, who scored 163 in 2004. Overall in 24 Tests, 14 visiting players have scored a ton at the venue.
Mominul also becomes the sixth Bangladesh batter to score a Test century against India, joining the likes of Mushfiqur, who has two hundreds, and Mohammad Ashraful, Zakir Hasan, Tamim Iqbal and Aminul Islam.
Coming back to the Kanpur Test, Japrit Bumrah, R Ashwin and Mohammed Siraj have struck for India, removing the experienced Bangladesh trio in quick succession. But Mominul has stood firm at the other end.
