India have etched their name into the record books once again, surpassing England to set a new benchmark for the most sixes hit in Test cricket within a calendar year. As of Day 4 of the second Test against Bangladesh in Kanpur, Indian batters have smashed 90 sixes across just 14 innings in 2024.

This remarkable achievement bests England's previous record of 89 sixes, set during their aggressive "Bazball" campaign in 2022. What's more impressive is that India still has several more matches to play this year, suggesting the record could grow even further.
