IND vs BAN: 'Mujhe kyu maar rahe ho' - Rishabh Pant argues with Litton Das after being hit by Bangladesh fielder

By MyKhel Staff

IND vs BAN: India wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant was involved in an argument with his Bangladesh counterpart Litton Das after a throw from a fielder hit him while he was trying to steal a single with his batting partner Yashasvi Jaiswal.

The incident happened on the third ball of the 16th over on the opening day of the first Test on Thursday when Pant was sent back by Yashasvi Jaiswal, who had pushed a delivery from Taskin Ahmed towards gully. As Pant rushed back to his crease, the throw from the fielder deflected off Pant's pads to go past the fielder who was looking to back the throw.

Pant and Jaiswal took the overthrow opportunity to complete a single when Litton Das expressed his displeasure at Pant going for the single despite the deflection. The India star argued back, and asked Litton was his fielder aiming at his body. Litton in return was heard saying it was his job to make a throw. Pant quipped back by stating that it was his job to run and score runs. Have a look at the video.

Pant falls after getting good start

Rishabh Pant, who was playing his first Test innings since December 2022, got off to a good start in Chennai. After India were reduced to 34/3, he joined forces with Yashasvi Jaiswal and took India's score past 90 without the loss of any further wicket.

Pant was looking good on 39 when he lost his concentration in the third over after the lunch break and edged a wide delivery from Hasan Mahmud into the gloves of Litton Das. Pant was livid after the soft dismissal as he smashed his bat on his pad.

Hasan Mahmud also picked the wickets of Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill and Virat Kohli in the first session after Bangladesh elected to bowl first in pacer-friendly conditions at the MA Chidambaram Stadium (Chepauk) in Chennai.
