India's spin maestro Ravichandran Ashwin has glittered his name with another fantastic milestone on the backdrop of the first Test against Bangladesh.
Team India shone brightly at the Chepauk and slayed the Tigers to take a 1-0 lead in the two-match Test series, and Ashwin played a central figure in it.

After a scintillating century with the bat in the first innings, Ashwin showed his primary skills with the ball and skittled Bangladesh in the 2nd innings as the hosts registered a 280-run victory. Ashwin spun the visitors to doomsday and picked up 6 wickets at his home ground.
After three wickets on Saturday, the Indian off-spinner weaved his magic and rattled the batters on Day 4 of the Test match. He got the crucial wicket of Shakib Al Hasan, and then trapped Mehidy Hasan Miraz as well to complete his 37th five-wicket haul in Tests.
Ashwin then struck again to send Taskin Ahmed packing, which became his 522nd Test scalp, and more significantly, 750th wicket in international cricket. With this, the man from Chennai has become only the second Indian to get to the colossal mark, with just Anil Kumble ahead of him with 956 wickets.
Ravichandran Ashwin has 522 Test wickets, and it further bolsters with 156 ODI scalps and 72 wickets in T20I cricket for India. The 38-year-old, who celebrated his birthday just five days earlier, will have bigger sights as he continues to march on in terrific manner.
Ravichandran Ashwin is still 206 wickets behind Anil Kumble. Although individual milestones generally take backstage for team sport athletes, if we are to see Ashwin's chances of overtaking Kumble, there is a slight possibility. Ashwin currently plays in the Test format only, which means he will have comparatively less game time to get those number of wickets.
Playing in the Test format does give Ashwin the big opportunity to overtake Kumble's 619 Test wicket tally as well, of which Ashwin is now just behind by 97 wickets. If the India spinner can continue for the next two or three years, he can give a real shot at bridging the Test wicket gap with Kumble, or even overtake him as the highest wicket-taker for India in Tests. But at this moment, getting 207 wickets and eclipsing Kumble can be a bit far-fetched theory for the prime off-spinner.
