IND vs BAN: "God’s Plan" - Rinku Singh Reveals Conversations With Nitish Kumar Reddy & Suryakumar Yadav's Advice

By MyKhel Staff

India batter Rinku Singh has revealed what he told compatriot Nitish Kumar Reddy during their 108-run stand in the 2nd T20I against Bangladesh on Wednesday (October 9) in Delhi.

Suryakumar Yadav's Men in Blue were in a spot of bother, losing the top three including the skipper inside the powerplay with just 41 runs on the board in 5.3 overs. But Rinku along with the eventual player of the match fought back and took India to a massive total.

Walking in to bat at number 5, Rinku scored a much-needed fifty, helped his younger partner evade pressure and score a half century himself in his very second outing for the Indian cricket team.

While Nitish Kumar Reddy spoke about "God's plan" message from his batting partner, Rinku, who scored 53 off 29 balls with five fours and three sixes, said the pair decided to take the attack to the opposition.

"We were enjoying our batting. I just said it is God's plan, just keep hitting and leave it on the one above. Nitesh bhai also batted well," Rinku said in a video posted by BCCI. "It was only his second international match and it felt really good watching him," he added.

Rinku looked at his record with pride saying he has won each series that he has played for India and expressed his wish to continue doing that.

"This was my third of century in T20Is and all three have come in situations where India have lost early wickets have been lost and I got the chance to bat and I made a fifty," he said.

"I have won all the series with the Indian team since I started playing, so I would want to remain with the team and the key keep winning," added Rinku, who also has 'God' plan' tattooed on his arm.

Rinku said India skipper Suryakumar Yadav urges his players to remain aggressive and play their natural game. "Surya bhai has asked us to be aggressive and play our natural game, just back our shots and show our energy," he said.

Rinku and Nitish fifties helped power India to 221/9 as Hardik Pandya and Riyan Parag also played late cameos with scores of 32 from 19 balls and 16 from 5 balls respectively before the visitors were restricted to 135/9 in 20 overs.

The hosts clinched the series 2-0 via the 86-run win in Delhi. Rinku and Nitish will look to carry forward their form when India host Bangladesh at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad for the third and final T20I on Saturday (October 12).
