India, after being put to bat by Bangladesh captain Najmul Hossain Shanto, amassed a formidable 196/5. The foundation of this total was laid by Hardik Pandya, who smashed a quickfire half-century.

Contributions also came from Rishabh Pant, Shivam Dube, and Virat Kohli, who provided essential cameos on a pitch that seemed sluggish. The decision to bowl first by Shanto appeared miscalculated, as the wicket only slowed further in the latter stages of the game.

Bangladesh's chase began with a cautious start, reaching 27/0 in four overs. However, the introduction of spin quickly turned the tide in India's favor. Kuldeep Yadav was particularly effective, dismantling the middle order with a three-wicket haul that left Bangladesh reeling.

Tanzid Hasan and Litton Das provided some resistance, but regular wickets stifled any momentum. Bangladesh's skipper, Shanto, failed to deliver both as a captain with his tactical choices and as a batsman, further compounding their problems.

Hardik Pandya's all-round performance was crucial. Apart from his vital innings, he claimed the first wicket, breaking a budding partnership. Jasprit Bumrah and Arshdeep Singh also chipped in, applying pressure in the death overs and ensuring the required run rate soared beyond Bangladesh's reach.

Bumrah's disciplined bowling at the end, along with Arshdeep's crucial strikes, left Bangladesh at 146/8 by the end of their 20 overs.

Despite a decent start from their openers and some middle-order resilience, Bangladesh's innings never really gathered the necessary steam to challenge India's total. Shakib Al Hasan tried to accelerate the innings but fell to Kuldeep, reflecting the story of Bangladesh's struggle against spin on the Antigua pitch.

This victory positions India strongly in their group, almost securing a spot in the semifinals, which will be confirmed if Australia defeats Afghanistan in their upcoming match. Rohit Sharma's side displayed a balanced performance, with both batting and bowling units clicking in unison. The team will now look forward to their semifinal clash in Guyana, riding high on confidence from a comprehensive team performance against Bangladesh.
