IND vs BAN T20I: Who is Ashwin-Jadeja's new surprise partner brought in by Rohit and Gambhir?

IND vs BAN T20I: India is gearing up for the first Test against Bangladesh in Chennai, and all eyes are on the bowling strategies being developed under the guidance of head coach Gautam Gambhir and captain Rohit Sharma.

While the duo of Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja is set to lead the spin attack, a new surprise element has emerged in the form of Yashasvi Jaiswal, the young opener, who was spotted bowling leg-breaks in the practice sessions.

This intriguing development was captured in a video released by Jio Cinema, revealing the Indian team's game plan? Or maybe it was a dummy. Jaiswal, known for his batting prowess, has rarely been seen as a serious bowling option, having bowled just one over in his nine-match Test career.

However, his leg-break deliveries to Ashwin and Jadeja in the nets suggest that India could be looking to use him as a part-time third spinner, which could catch the visitors off-guard. The Chennai pitch is expected to have red soil, a surface that generally assists spinners, and the presence of a third spin option could prove advantageous.

India has the likes of Axar Patel and Kuldeep Yadav in their ranks, but the team appears to be leaning towards using just two specialist spinners for this match. This makes Jaiswal's potential involvement as a spinner all the more significant. Gambhir has a track record of encouraging part-time bowlers in practice, and Jaiswal isn't the first batter to roll his arm in the nets under his supervision.

Suryakumar Yadav and Rinku Singh have also been given similar roles in previous series, showing Gambhir's inclination toward experimenting with versatile players. This approach aims to bolster India's depth in both batting and bowling without compromising the balance of the team.

With Bangladesh known for their strong spin attack, it will be interesting to see how India's strategy unfolds. Jaiswal's inclusion as a part-time spinner adds a new dimension to the bowling attack, and while Ashwin and Jadeja remain the core, the young opener could turn out to be the surprise package in this crucial Test series.
