IND vs BAN: Considering the expected slow nature of the black soil Kanpur pitch, India are all set to introduce a third spinner in the second and final Test against Bangladesh.
India played their first Test match of the series in Chennai on a red soil pitch with three pacers and two spinners. The pitch provided a lot of help to India as well as the Bangladesh pacers.

However, the action in the second Test will take on a contrasting black soil pitch in Kanpur. A low bounce is witnessed on such surfaces, helping the spinners to come into the play from Day 2 or Day 3.
As per a report by The Indian Express, not even a hint of grass will be left on the surface on instructions from BCCI chief curator Ashish Bhowmick.
This means that India will drop one among Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj and Akash Deep, and pick either Kuldeep Yadav or Axar Patel. In the last Test match India played here in 2021, Ravichandran Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja and Axar Patel were the three spinners in the eleven. However, chances of local boy Kuldeep Yadav's inclusion is more this time.
Bumrah, the treasured pacer of the Indian cricket team, will likely be rested. A turning surface in Kanpur is welcome news for the Indian management who are looking to give ample rest to Bumrah. His fitness is of utmost importance to India considering the eight Test matches after the Bangladesh series.
India will be playing three Test matches against New Zealand at home, and then fly to Australia for a five-match Test series starting November 22 in Perth.
India are unlikely to make any changes to their batting composition which consisted of Yashasvi Jaiswal, Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Shubman Gill and KL Rahul in the first Test. Sarfaraz Khan and wicketkeeper-batter Sarfaraz Khan and Dhruv Jurel could be released to play in the Irani Cup which starts from October 1.
