IND vs BAN U-19 World Cup 2024: India U19 and Bangladesh U19 players got into an ugly fight after the final of Under-19 World Cup 2020 which the Bangla Tigers won by three wickets.
Four years later, the rivalry renewed with India U19 taking on Bangladesh U19 in their first match of the Under-19 World Cup 2024 in South Africa. Bangladesh reduced India to 31/2 after opting to bowl first, but captain Uday Sharan and opener Adarsh Singh joined forces to revive the India innings.

The pair partnered for 116 runs and kept Bangladesh wicketless for almost 24 overs. As India put Bangladesh under the pump, their spinner Ariful Islam couldn't hold his frustration and got into an heated exchange with Uday Sharan.
On the second ball of the 25th over, the right-hand batter comfortably worked away a delivery for a single. It was then that the off-spinner spilled out some unruly words for Uday Sharan.
The 19-year-old from Rajasthan did not hold back and retaliated. Ariful was soon joined by two of his teammates who tagged along to get under the skin of Uday. The umpire had to intervene to bring the matter under control.
Udhay Sharan led from the front in the match and scored 64 runs off 94 balls. His innings consisted of four boundaries. The knock played a key role in propelling India to 251/7 at the end of 50 overs in Mangaung Oval in Bloemfontein.
India and Bangladesh are placed in Group A alongside Ireland and USA. At the time this article was published, Bangladesh were four down for 58 in 18.1 overs.
