IND vs BAN: Why did Virat Kohli not take DRS? The Only Reason behind India batter's error Explained
It was utter incredulity at the India dressing room as Virat Kohli made a blunder against Bangladesh on Friday (September 20).
Kohli made a significant error with the Decision Review System (DRS) on the second day of the first Test in Chennai, which got him dismissed.

Batting confidently at 17 runs from 36 balls, Kohli was struck on the pad by a full delivery from Mehidy Hasan Miraz. Despite being given out by the umpire, Kohli, after consulting Shubman Gill, chose not to review the decision, disappointing fans.
The replay revealed that Kohli had an inside edge, which would have overturned the umpire's decision if reviewed. Rohit Sharma, India's captain, showed visible frustration over Kohli's choice not to use DRS. His reaction quickly gained attention on social media platforms. Shubman Gill, Kohli's partner, could only shook his head as the India stalwart made his long walk back to the pavilion.
By stumps on Day 2, India are 81 for three in their second innings, extending their lead to 308 runs. Shubman Gill remains unbeaten at 33 alongside Rishabh Pant, who is not out at 12 when play ended for the day.
Bangladesh struggled in their first innings, managing only 149 runs and giving India a substantial lead of 227 runs. They lasted just 47.1 overs in response to India's first-innings total of 376.
But Kohli will be ruing the missed opportunity. The batter was in fine touch and was looking comfortable at the crease. After departing for just 6 runs in the first innings, this was a perfect opportunity for him to cash in and amass a big individual score. But it was a moment of misjudgement which led to his demise.
IND vs BAN: Why did Virat Kohli not take the DRS?
Virat Kohli was uncertain about taking the DRS, and a logical explanation can find only one reason behind that.
Kohli's inside edge was just in front of his leading foot. The Indian batter tried to play a shot across the wicket and the ball only managed a faint edge on his bat, before hitting his pads. Due to the very short time-lapse (in milliseconds), a player, who is already in forward movement, sometimes fails to recognize the first touch, which in this case, happened with Kohli's bat. That perhaps happened with the Indian batter, where he failed to even comprehend that there was a tiny edge with the willow, which led him not to opt for the review.
